The eagle’s crown and cross above are crisply detailed. Reverse fitted with a horizontal pin-back and stamped “MAYER & WILHELM, STUTTGART.” These badges were worn by crew members and personnel associated with the Imperial German Zeppelin units during the First World War, marking their service in lighter-than-air operations.
