Finely crafted badge featuring the crowned Polish eagle in flight, die-struck in silver, above a gilt laurel wreath tied at the base with a bow. Reverse fitted with screw-back fastener; stamped “925” for sterling silver, with maker’s hallmark “MR” beneath, and inspector’s control stamp “94” on the back of the eagle’s neck. Such marks are consistent with private or émigré jeweler production during the interwar period or World War II. This badge, known as the “Gapa,” was awarded to qualified pilots of the Polish Air Force, worn on the uniform breast as the formal emblem of aviator status.
