Oval gilt and enameled badge with red and white border, surmounted at top by a silvered gull in flight. At base, a crowned black enamel shield with gilt fouled anchor and intertwined monogram. Reverse with long vertical pin-back; an indistinct circular hallmark is present beneath the pin assembly, though worn and illegible. These badges were worn by aviators and observers serving in the Royal Norwegian Navy during World War II, symbolizing their qualification and service in naval aviation.
