A fine example of the 1939 Clasp to the 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class, instituted by Adolf Hitler on September 1, 1939, to recognize World War I Iron Cross recipients who again distinguished themselves in World War II. Two-piece construction in silvered tombac, featuring a spread-wing eagle clutching a swastika above a trapezoidal banner inscribed 1939, mounted above a 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class. Reverse stamped with maker mark KO for Klein & Quenzer, Oberstein, and fitted with a vertical pin and catch assembly.

Very Good. Light surface wear and toning; pin assembly intact and functional. Silver finish with mild age patina and darkened core consistent with period manufacture.
