Henry Eckhardt was born in 1833 to a restaurateur and hotel keeper in Prussia. When he was 14 he went off to a 4 year gunsmithing apprenticeship in Kassel. Eventually he was called up to join the Prussian military but was too short. So he emigrated to the US in 1854. He moved to Sacramento and opened a gun shop in 1870, "

Action functions mechanically. Damascus is a bit faded and there's pitting around the breach. Bore has corrosion. Stock very fine only a few minor scratches.
