Mid-19th-century plain copper powder flask with nickel-plated brass top, manufactured by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield. The smooth, teardrop body retains its original finish and is fitted with an adjustable charger marked in drams for 2½, 2¾, 3, and 3¼. The top is clearly stamped JAMES DIXON & SONS / SHEFFIELD, a mark associated with the firm’s high-quality sporting accessories favored by British riflemen and hunters throughout the Victorian era. A simple yet elegant design, this flask represents one of Dixon’s more utilitarian sporting models, balancing refined engineering with durable field use.
