World War II U.S. M1 steel helmet retaining its original textured corked olive drab finish and desirable early fixed-bale chinstrap loops. The helmet is fitted with a wartime high-pressure liner retaining its original web suspension and khaki web chinstrap. Both the liner suspension and chinstrap are period-marked “P.F.C. Sorensen,” identifying the helmet to a Private First Class. The shell exhibits the classic profile and construction associated with early-war M1 production and remains an attractive named example of the iconic American combat helmet carried throughout the Second World War.
