A scarce and visually striking 19th-century powder tin from the White Mt. Gun Powder Company. Cylindrical form with embossed lid and pour spout, retaining a large portion of its original paper label with scrolling flourishes and company branding. White Mt. was likely a small, regional manufacturer operating in the mid-to-late 1800s, possibly in the New England area. Though little is known about the firm today, its surviving tins are valued by collectors for their rarity and connection to the broader landscape of 19th-century American black powder production.
