Small archive of Army doctor Henry S. Mitchell. He was a lieutenant in World War 1. Trained at Fort Eustis, Va. Went overseas with the 47th regiment as a medical officer and saw service with the 312th ammunition group in France and Germany. Mitchell was discharged at fort Warren in Cheyenne Wy. in 1919. When WWII came around he went back to the army as a major and was later promoted to Lt. Col. He was also a very accomplished medical doctor in civilian life.
Henry S. Mitchell was born January 5, 1891 and died November 19, 1960.
Group comprises primarily items from his WW1 service: dog tags, custom ID bracelet, WW1 victory medal, collar and rank insignia, photos, pocket new testament, a pocket copy of Barrack-Room Ballads by Kipling, ect. Additionally there are several souvenirs: a WW1 french adrian helmet, WW1 italian bayonet, a USMC button, patriotic lighter.

Adrian helmet has a few dings and rust spots. Bayonet scabbard has dents and blade stained.
