WWI Imperial German Model 1916 Stahlhelm steel helmet shell retaining a period camouflage finish in muted brown, green, and dark field-gray tones. The helmet has the classic M16 form with extended skirt and prominent side vent lugs. Interior is without liner or chinstrap, but retains small remnants of liner attachment hardware. An old handwritten tag notes “German M16 Camo Helmet with mail home address,” indicating the helmet was associated with a mailed-home address label or return address at the time of collection.
