World War II German Army (Heer) M40 steel combat helmet retaining a partially visible Heer eagle decal on the left side. The shell is stamped EF60, indicating manufacture by Emaillierwerke A.G., Fulda, with rear skirt lot number 9070. The helmet retains its original liner assembly and displays a hand-painted name to the interior rear skirt, appearing to read “Dr. H. G. Geller” (or similar), likely identifying the original wearer. The exterior retains a substantial portion of its original field-gray finish with honest service wear throughout. A desirable named single-decal M40 helmet from one of the principal wartime helmet manufacturers.
